I was asked to replace the existing stone surface with something a bit more pleasing on the eye. I decided to use a fossil mint Indian sandstone slab, as the colour of the product worked well with the decking that was going to be left. This terrace measures approx 22 sq m.
Due to the projects location drainage was a priority, as anything over 5 sq m in town locations requires planning permission (unless sufficient drainage systems are applied). The water naturally fell out of the garden so incorporated a drain catch and pea trap into the the step down and then linked it up to the sewer outlet of the property.
The perimeter of the terrace was surrounded using a half rope topped buff edging stone. I also used a black pointing mix to finish of the job to bring out the fossilised nature of the sandstone.
